I love going to the Iowa State Fair every year.
I went to Puerto Rico to visit my uncle when I was 8 years old.
I have never lived more than 3 hours from my hometown.

I grew up in Mingo, Iowa. After graduation I worked for various businesses primarily doing office work until one day I chose to follow my dream of becoming a teacher. I waited until I was almost 30 to pursue my dream. I was almost 33 when I received my degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies from Iowa State University. I am considered to be a non-traditional teacher since I delayed pursuing my career. My husband and I are the proud parents of two boys. My husband and boys are my world.
The night sky fascinates me.
I am a fan of the Iowa State Cyclones and I attend games regularly, especially football.
In 1994 I was a national champion in saddle seat equitation.
I collect cookbooks and I have more than 100 from various sources.
I appreciate the beauty of sunrises and sunsets.
I like to dance even if no one joins me.
I like to make people laugh.
